Neighborhood Hands

Neighborhood Hands meet unhoused residents where they are and provide an empowering, no-barrier-to-entry opportunity to beautify unmaintained urban parks. After park cleanings, we connect unhoused residents to the neighborhood through a positive community environment and growing resource fair, (or "party-in-the-park," as we call it!) enabling highly convenient, efficient, and comfortable access to a wide range of community partners battling the homeless crisis

The program meets at 7:45 A.M. in Guadalupe River Park The unhoused neighbors will clean the park until approximately 9:00 A.M. and they receive stipends for their efforts.

After, everyone enjoys a vibrant and growing community resource fair until ~10:30 A.M.

Community Cycles is helping to keep unsafe bicycles off the roads and putting safe bicycles in the hands of those who need them.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Volunteer with us for 25 hours and earn a Community Bicycle from Community Cycles. It’s that Easy!

Step 1: Inform Community Cycles that you will participate in the Earn-a-Bike program. Submit a request for more information on their website: https://www.communitycyclesca.org/get-support or click on the link below.

Step 2: Upon completion of 25 hours, have the form signed or ask for hours to be emailed to Community Cycles. Your name, date of volunteering and number of hours MUST be included to be eligible for a bicycle. Hours may not be double counted for other services you may volunteer to receive.

Step 3: Upon verification, a Community Bike will be made available. If one that fits is not available, as estimated date of completion will be provided. Peak periods may cause delays.
